Brighton Bears look like making another trek to South Yorkshire in the quarter-finals of the BBL playoffs.
Bears are almost certain to miss out on a home tie and look like facing a trip to Sheffield Sharks after suffering another defeat last night.
They went down 75-66 to Thames Valley Tigers in a re-arranged league fixture staged at the Bognor Arena.
Bears trailed all the way from the fifth minute, though there was hope of a comeback when they reduced arrears to 67-62 late in the game.
Tigers, led by Joshua Murray (20) and Jo James (19), outscored their hosts in all four periods and were 35-28 clear at half time.
They punished frequent Bears turnovers with some efficient transition offence. Bears did not help their cause by missing 12 of their 32 free throws.
Ajou Deng's 15 rebounds helped him to another double-double while Ronnie Baker, the smallest man on court, claimed seven boards.
Bears can alter the playoff picture above them by winning at London Towers tonight (7.30).
Towers are the form team in the league having gone unbeaten since February, and look like beating Sheffield to third place.
Bears scorers: Alleyne 23, Lepore 12, Deng 11, Baker 10, Holley 4, Ogilvie 4.
