It may be difficult to believe but the Arundel and South Downs constituency may be slipping away from the Tories.
How can this be, in the seventh safest Tory seat in the UK with a majority of nearly 14,000?
Like Mr Flight himself, it is a Tory banker.
Whatever Mr Flight said or didn't say about public spending, the civil war between his local Conservative Association and the leadership must be ended.
All parties are essentially broad churches and we must allow for flexibility in British politics.
If you have a popular but outspoken MP, idolised by their activists and endorsed by the voters, then there is precious little the national party should do.
They must bite the bullet and learn to live with the situation.
Otherwise, in this case, it looks like: "Flight will fight and Flight may well be proved right."
