Thanks to Deborah Tucknott for such an informative article on nordic walking which I found on your website (The Argus, April 4).
I'm 67 years of age and have suffered two major heart attacks and have undergone bypass surgery.
For two years, I went into some kind of depression but am now out of it and can't stop working.
I'm currently constructing a new greenhouse and with help managed to lay out and build decking plus the hundred and one jobs around the house that needed doing.
I know aboute nordic walking because, when I was in the Army, our ski team did it in summer to keep fit for the oncoming ski season. So I'm thinking of buying a set of poles, I've seen them in Maidstone for £28 each.
Before my operation I was very ill (I'm still short of breath) but have always lead a very active life and would like try this.
I feel poles would be a great advantage to me so, again thanks for such an informative article, I have saved it and hope to take up walking soon.
