The balance between business and family life in one city centre will be explored by traders keen to recreate the success in their own.
Residents, business leaders and teams from Canterbury City Council will tour the North Laine area in Brighton on Wednesday to see how people living there work with nearby traders.
Brighton's city centre manager, Soozie Campbell, will be among business leaders talking to the group of 20 visitors, highlighting the importance of a good relationship between residents and traders' associations.
The teams from Canterbury decided to make the trip as part of plans to pedestrianise parts of the city, while consulting with residents on how to redirect traffic away from the centre.
