In response to portions of Adam Trimingham's opinion article as well as several letters in the Argus, let me clarify why people in Preston Park protest so strongly about the introduction of wheelie bins.
The majority of houses in this area are terraced, with no off-street location to store the bins, so they have to be stored on the pavement 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
It is therefore not an issue about recycling - many residents here are like others and recycle for the good of the environment.
It is about the permanent presence of bins on our pavements.
