A former Worthing news seller has died at the age of 90.
Fred "Curly" Howard sold The Argus from a stand outside Lloyds Bank, South Street, for many years.
He finally retired in 1986 at the age of 72, having previously worked as a cleaner for Worthing Borough Council for 42 years.
Fred was affectionately known as "Curly" because he was completely bald and wore a wig.
He was found dead at his home in Rivoli Court, Chapel Road, Worthing. A post-mortem is to be held.
Worthing coroner's office is trying to trace relatives prior to his funeral, which has not yet been arranged.
