A minibus is to be given to a worthy cause in Sussex by The Argus Appeal.
Since the appeal bought the 16-seater Gingerbread Bus three years ago it has been used regularly by dozens of voluntary organisations.
But now it is being replaced with a new model, so voluntary organisations are being invited to write to the appeal and explain how they would use the old bus if it was given to them.
Argus Appeal co-ordinator Elsa Gillio said: "It is a fantastic bus, it drives really well. It is used by so many charities and is a real asset for them.
"Rather than trade the minibus in, the appeal decided to put it up for grabs. We have invited organisations to tell us why they need the vehicle.
"We were able to fund the first bus from the Argus Appeal three years ago and now we are going to fund another one to support all the organisations that use it to help people lead an active life."
The old bus has been rented out to various organisations from the Lewes Road franchise of Budget for £20 a day.
Mark Hilfiker, assistant manager at Budget, said: "It is constantly used by charities. Churches take it out and it is also used by Scout groups, Brownies and The Guides. Just about every organisation you can think of uses it. It really is a superb service."
Roger French, managing director of Budget's Lewes Road franchise and a trustee of The Argus Appeal, said: "It is great the appeal is able to fund a new minibus and invite other charities to bid for the old one.
"At Budget we are pleased we have been able to make a difference to the lives of so many people and give them the ability to get out and about.
"It is wonderful to see how many charities have been helped."
