Mike Ward's attack on cyclists (The Argus, April 12) overlooks the millions of pounds in costs to the NHS of vehicle accidents and the millions saved to the NHS by the rise of the healthy cycling option.

Drivers should also pay the real cost to the planet and future generations of their activities.

One way could be a Draconian measure by government of giving people a choice of

car or child to underline drivers' mortgaging of their children's future.

Furthermore, Jeremy Clarkson should be recognised for what he is: Public Enemy Number One.
