With the election approaching, candidates are seeking to show themselves to be supportive of the Seagulls' need for a new stadium.
The most pressing problem in the short term is to retain our place in The Championship.
I was therefore somewhat surprised to read in Hove Tory candidate Nicholas Boles' recent leaflet that the Albion need a ground suitable for the "first division".
Presumably, he is unaware that, nowadays, the first division is usually taken by football supporters to be League 1, the division below the Championship, and the one the Albion would be in if they were to be relegated.
I prefer to support Celia Barlow's aspiration that Brighton and Hove Albion need a stadium suitable for the Barclays Premiership and it should be at Falmer.
