Families fighting against plans for a £10 million waste transfer station on land near two schools have re-launched their campaign.
A website, specially-commissioned logo and printed T-shirts will be unveiled by parents protesting against the proposed waste transfer station and materials recovery facility on the site of a former abattoir, off Hollingdean Lane, in Brighton.
The new Dump The Dump campaign gets under way on Saturday with a free children's party at South Downs Infant School in Ditchling Road, Brighton, from 4pm.
This site and the nearby South Downs Junior School, in Rugby Road, both border land being proposed for the development and families fear the station will trigger an increase in traffic and pollution.
Mother-of-three Melanie White has two children at the infant school and another at the junior school and is part of the campaign.
The 33-year-old, from Hollingbury Road, Brighton, said: "We are still against the waste transfer station, we still have the same objections and concerns and this Saturday is a chance for everyone involved to get together informally.
"We have been doing a lot of research into the effects of pollution on children. We still feel we have a chance to stop this development."
The plans have been submitted by teams from Onyx South Downs Ltd, which holds a 25-year contract managing waste for Brighton and Hove City Council.
Bosses argue the waste transfer station is key to handling rubbish as nearby landfill sites are expected to be filled by 2008.
