A new exhibition charting the development of Brighton's Royal Pavilion from 1787 to the present day has opened.
The free display in the Pavilion's north-west gallery shows the transformation of a modest farmhouse into a spectacular royal palace attracting thousands of visitors a year.
It reveals structural problems which endangered the building and work to secure its future. Samples of gilded dragons, original tiles and Victorian wallpaper are on display.
