Sussex groups are among those to receive Lottery funding to commemorate Britain's Home Front during the Second World War.
Up to £12.3 million is being handed out by the Home Front Recall scheme in the run up the 60th anniversary of the end of the war.
The money will be used to organise VE and VJ Day events and pay tribute to former fire fighters, nurses, dock workers and others who supported the country during the conflict.
Members of the Hailsham and District Royal British Legion will use a £10,000 grant to hold a fun day, including displays of artefacts, photographs and demonstrations from army cadets for schools and youth groups.
Residents from Southdown Avenue in Brighton, will hold a street party with a £725 grant paying for a visit to a nearby air raid shelter and a presentation from teams at Brighton History Centre.
Funding has also gone to West Sussex County Council, Adur District Council and the Parents Teachers and Friends of Whitehawk Primary School.
