I was most sorry to hear the British movie legend Sir John Mills had died aged 97.
He made more than 100 movies but will be best remembered for his war films, such as Waterloo Road (1944), In Which We Serve 1942 and Dunkirk (1958).
Mills was popular with the London cabbies. In the Sixties, I remember him at Victoria Station. Some waiting cabbies called out "Johnny, over here" as he made his way towards them.
He will be greatly missed.
