Albion manager Mark McGhee today urged his players to remove any doubt about their Championship futures by ending with a win double.
All attention is focused on this Saturday, when the Seagulls' result at relegated Rotherham combined with events elsewhere could keep them up or send them down.
It has overshadowed Albion's assured route to survival, by winning at Millmoor and at Withdean on the final day when opponents Ipswich may or may not still be pursuing automatic promotion.
McGhee said: "There is another way of summing up the whole thing and probably this is the way we should be talking and looking at it.
"If we win out last two games we stay up, that is the only thing that is guaranteed. The fact that Crewe play Coventry on the last day means they can both say that but they cannot both do it."
Rock-bottom Rotherham have lost eight of their last ten matches at home but McGhee is guarding against complacency as Albion attempt to end a nine-match run without a win.
He warned: "They are playing their last home game of the season with a manager (Mick Harford) who will want to put down a marker with regards to what the punters can expect from him and anyone who does play for him next year, so I think we have got to expect them to be at their best.
"If we expect anything less we might be taken by surprise, so I am not taking anything for granted at all."
McGhee remains confident victory at Rotherham will turn out to be good enough, but Albion will not be too gung-ho in the quest for three points.
He said: "A draw there and against Ipswich could keep us up, so we are not going there cavalier but determined to match them and hope that we are better than them."
**Andy to phone with add reserves here**
Rotherham have made available an extra 1,000 tickets for Albion fans to pay on the day, price 17 adults and 13 for under-16s and over-60s.
The Seagulls have already sold more than 2,000 advanced tickets to away members at cheaper prices and a few are still available from the ticket office until 4pm today.
Albion reserves beat Woking 2-0 in their penultimate match of the season at Worthing last night.
Maheta Molango scored both goals in the first half, the second a penalty after he had been brought down.
