Are your readers aware that, if they have applied for a postal ballot and this does not arrive by May 3, the Council's electoral department states that the voter must go in person to the Town Hall to correct matters?
No other method will suffice. While it may well be that most voters receive their mail, there will inevitably be a sizeable number who do not.
In the case of disabled people, particularly those living up to six or more miles from the Town Hall, eg Saltdean, Telscombe and Peacehaven, this could make exercise of their franchise difficult or impossible.
Some publicity concerning this might be helpful to ensure further mistakes in the now hugely enlarged postal voting system does not occur, through ignorance of voters affected.
