Over the past year, 4,000 youngsters from 70 schools and groups across the city have been working hard to create what promises to be the noisiest, brightest and biggest Children's Parade in 15 years.
Towering tableaus and amazing costumes made and worn by young people will make their way through the city to the seafront to kick-start this year's festival.
It is renowned as one of the most spectacular carnival events in the country and attracts as many as 25,000 on-lookers, who get carried along on the samba beats while the children dance through the streets, showing off their fabulous creations.
With the theme All The World's A Stage, expect to be absorbed in a toetapping extravaganza, featuring all the pizzazz of the theatre and culminating in a musical finale from Positive Sounds. Be sure to get your spot early for a good view.
Starts at 10.30am. Free.
