Ambient freefall minimalist jazz or lo-fi post-rock trance?
Pinning the tail on the metaphorical musical donkey which is The Necks has been likened to trying to stop a freight train with a feather duster.
All-knowing music mag Straight No Chaser described them as "one of the finest, most accessible and genuinely revelatory improvising groups on the planet" and the trio have also been praised by Time Out, The Guardian and the Financial Times.
Witnessing The Necks' genre-defying music in concert is a charming and hypnotic experience.
Their pianist, Chris Abrahams, will also be performing solo at lunchtime on May 17.
Starts 8pm, tickets £12.50. SOLD OUT.
