I am writing to mark the death of Laurence Black on April 16, 2005, who lived at Davigdor Lodge.
I knew him very well for the past 12 years and found him the most kind, generous, honest and decent man there was.
Nothing was too much trouble for him. Friends and relations from all over Brighton had electrical items repaired by him without asking or accepting payment. He was a very intelligent man. There wasn't an electrical problem he could not solve and he could speak three languages fluently.
Laurence took care of his mother, who was bedridden for three years, until she died.
I think he felt safe and secure where he was but being told he would have to move and find new lodging was too much for him to cope with.
