Last summer saw hip-pop-rocksters Rooster launch their Top Ten hit, Come Get Some.
A raucous collision of stadium rock aesthetics, red-blooded indie posturing and an anthemic chorus, it received heavy airplay. The single was a lithe and spritely chunk of crunchy summer-pop, perfect for the post-festival season. Indeed, for a while it was impossible to watch music television without seeing the boisterous twenty-somethings shouting it from the rooftops.
Raised on the likes of Led Zep, Cream and Free, Rooster frontman Nick Atkinson also professes a love of Eighties hair-metal monsters like Guns 'n' Roses and Aerosmith.
But although the Rooster sound clearly owes a lot to the light-fingered fret-work of bygone rock royalty, they are no strangers to pop production values and an infectious hook.
Originally booked to play the Brighton Black Rock event, Rooster promptly rescheduled when the mini-festival was cancelled in April following the announcement of the General Election.
So there you have it - Rooster, considerate as well as catchy.
