It is coming to something when our firefighters notice dangerous double-Parking has become worse since Brighton and Hove City Council took over the parking restrictions.
When will the council realise taking away parking places does not ease traffic flow? Eighty per cent of city centre traffic is people looking for somewhere to park. If the council had its way, no visitors at all would be able, or want, to come to Brighton.
I wonder how many times the emergency services have been stuck at the bottom of Church Street in Brighton in the single-file queue for the NCP car park? How many parking spaces have been removed there to be replaced with acres of paving?
In an ideal world we would all use our cars less but, unfortunately, if you have to go somewhere other than the city centre, the public transport structure is not efficient enough.
So, even when not using the car, we have to park somewhere.
Parking restrictions just drive the problem out to somewhere else.
The creeping problem in Poets Corner and Stoneham Park is exacerbated by people parking outside the restricted areas.
