The uncle of murdered Babes in the Woods schoolgirl Nicola Fellows is creating a web site filled with details of the crime to help jog people's memory.
Nigel Heffron hopes to remind people of the day his niece Nicola and her friend Karen Hadaway, both nine, were strangled in Wild Park, Brighton, in a bid to find fresh insights into the crime.
The double murder on October 9, 1986, caused national outcry and led to the arrest of Brighton roofer Russell Bishop.
Bishop was later cleared of the murders at Lewes Crown Court but later jailed for life for the attempted murder of another girl at Devil's Dyke.
To date no one has been brought to justice for the murders of Nicola and Karen.
The web site will feature extracts from The Argus, national newspapers, television news reports and details of which buses were travelling past the murder scene.
There will be images taken from episodes of EastEnders and Emmerdale Farm transmitted on the day.
Mr Heffron, of Fletching Close, Brighton, is also trying to contact Hove resident Nick Berry to gain permission to use a sample of Every Loser Wins, which was number one at the time of the murders, on the site.
Mr Heffron said: "Things like music often jog the memory so we are hoping something on the site will make somebody remember a detail from that day."
The web site, which is being built for free by Southwick-based company Adoodo, has been complimented by police.
Detective Chief Superintendent Graham Cox, head of CID, said: "While the Babes in the Wood inquiry remains open, this web site could prove to be a useful tool in jogging people's memories as to what happened on that day."
The web site is still not complete but will use the net address www.babesinthewood.info when it is finished
