I find it quite astonishing the amount of times traffic wardens are being verbally and physically assaulted.
I worked as a traffic warden, employed by Sussex Police, before Brighton and Hove City Council took responsibility for parking in 2001.
Sometimes we received verbal abuse but never physical assaults and feel we were accepted in Brighton by local shopkeepers.
We were often called by our first names and even missed if we covered a different area of Brighton.
Maybe NCP needs to re-evaluate its working practices before a parking warden gets seriously hurt - I really can't see this situation getting any better.
