Svetlana Kuznetsova said today she will defend her Eastbourne title.
The world No. 7 will join a 32-strong draw for the Hastings Direct International Ladies Championship at Devonshire Park from June 13 to 19.
Kuznetsova, who beat Daniela Hantuchova in last year's final on her debut, is on a mission to retain her crown.
The 19-year-old Russian US Open title-holder, said: "I had so much fun in Eastbourne last year and I am really looking forward to going back. It is a great event and it would be fantastic if I could successfully defend the title.
"It will be difficult but I am playing very well at the moment and who knows how far I will be able to go?
"Whatever happens it will be great to be in Eastbourne again. I love to be able to walk on the beach, eat nice food and enjoy the nice atmosphere."
Kutznetsova, the fifth seed, is due to play Paola Suarez (Argentina) at the Italian Open in Rome today after reaching the German Open quarter-final last week.
She took former world No. 1 Justine Henin-Hardenne (Belgium) to three sets before losing the Warsaw Open a fortnight ago.
Ticket information on the 30th Eastbourne tournament is available on 01323 412000.
