A boy of 15 will appear at crown court in connection with a £3 million arson attack at a secondary school.
The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, spoke only to confirm his age when he appeared at a five minute hearing at Eastbourne Youth Court yesterday.
He is charged with arson and burglary at Tideway Community School in Southdown Road, Newhaven, on April 5.
No bail application was made by his solicitor, Stuart Grace, and magistrates remanded the youth in custody.
He will appear for a plea and directions hearing at Lewes Crown Court on May 24.
