A rising fashion label has been thrust into the limelight after Geri Halliwell wore one of their designs to a star-studded showbiz party.
The former Spice Girl was photgraphed at England captain David Beckham's 30th birthday bash in Madrid wearing a satin blouse designed and made by Simultane, a small Brighton-based label.
Simon Beales, managing director of the label, said: "It's great. It's one of the biggest celebrity bashes and she's chosen to wear our top. It shows that we are beginning to compete with some of the world's biggest brands."
Sarah Arnett, who designed the garment, said: "It's very exciting. I thought she looked fab. She looked very natural and that's how it should be worn."
The £220 summer shirt is on sale at Simultane's shop in Ship Street, as well as the London department store Liberty's, and has been laser cut in places for a lace-like effect.
Sarah explained: "I wanted to invent a new, more modern kind of lace. Every season I always do a shirt and we are getting to be known for those. They seem to fit everyone really well."
It is not the first time one of Sarah's creations has graced a celebrity.
In the past, Simultane have dressed singers Tori Amos and Kt Tunstall and television presenters Donna Air and Zoe Ball.
Just weeks ago, Channel 4's June Sarpong wore the same blouse in a different colour to present the Prince's Trust Urban Music Awards.
