Unfortunately, Jean Calder, at the end of her popular moralising on the Iraq invasion (May 13), did not draw the obvious conclusion - it would have been better for the world if Saddam Hussein were still dictator.
She may wish to deny this but it is the logical conclusion.
May I add, I argued against any invasion long before it occurred but for reasons too lengthy to set out here.
However, I do not believe Tony Blair lied to Parliament although I believe his judgement was at fault.
As for the war's legality, take any two lawyers and you get two different opinions.
