I am in complete agreement with Lisa Burton (Letters, May 16).
For many years, we in East and West Sussex have suffered from a pro-Southampton and, to some degree, pro-Portsmouth, lobby on local television for BBC and Meridian.
The lack of any balance across the region is something which has occurred for as long as I can recall - and I am 39.
The biggest joke of all is the reporting of sport.
Being a season ticket holder at the Albion and a keen fan of Sussex cricket, I am truly staggered at how, if we are mentioned, it is in a most condescending manner.
As Ms Burton mentions, there was no report prior to the Albion's crucial game at Rotherham.
An even worse example was after the Sussex cricket club won the County Championship for the first time and in the report the next day, Meridian news led their sports report with a report about how Hampshire were preparing for next season.
The only way to deal with these programmes is not to watch them.
Personally, I have taken to DIY mid-afternoon so during the six to 7pm slot, I can watch paint dry rather than their bulletins.
And congratulations to the Albion for staying up against all odds.
