I read the suggestions from Steve Collins and Robert Stiles (Letters, May 14) with interest. Both sites would be excellent alternatives for a site for an Abion stadium.

When the team was at the Goldstone ground, apart from the lack of parking, it seemed to suit everyone.

With all the arguing and trouble it is causing trying to relocate it to Falmer, Waterhall and Toad's Hole Valley would more than adequately accommodate such a proposal. Does anybody actually object to it going there? I find it hard to imagine anyone would.

The owners of the Toad's Valley site seem more than happy to offer the land for the proposed stadium and it appears they are making a sensible proposal.

The residents of the proposed park-and-ride scheme are against it being located in Braypool Lane, making Waterhall a better option for a stadium.

It wouldn't inconvenience local residents or drivers and it could house many facilities, such as the ice rink, watersports and dry-ski slope Mr Collins suggests, which would bring a great deal of interest and income to Brighton and Hove.

And with a railway station at the bottom of the hill at the Waterhall site, it makes building a new stadium there even more obvious.

Does anyone know, apart from John Prescott, who is digging their heels in and insisting the new stadium must be sited at Falmer when it is clear nobody actually wants it there?

I'm sure Albion supporters don't really care where the new stadium is as long as it is built sooner rather than later and can accommodate all forms of transport in order to get them to see the game.

Come on someone, make a sensible decision which will benefit everyone - and make it soon.

This issue has been dragging on for so long it is simply a bore.
