Dynamic leadership, exceptional attitudes to learning and outstanding achievement were praised in a school inspection report.
Brighton College Prep School and Pre-Prep School in Eastern Road have received excellent reports from the Independent Schools Council (ISC) and Ofsted.
The ISC described the prep school as a "flourishing community striving for and attaining good academic standards and very high standards in teaching, pupils' behaviour, sport, extra-curricular activities and pastoral care".
It was praised for its communication with parents, dynamic leadership by headteacher Brian Melia and pupils' good behaviour and exceptional attitude to learning. The report recognised the school's high achievement locally and nationally.
The pre-prep school, run by headteacher Sue Wick, was also awarded high marks by the ISC and Ofsted.
Teaching was deemed "very good" especially in mathematical development.
Effective pastoral care and good relationships between staff and pupils were also highlighted in the report.
