Young music students have launched their own record label.
The musicians behind Brighton Records hope to make their mark on the music world like other city labels Truthoughts and Catskills.
The students created all the music on their CD, with genres ranging from rock to dance and urban.
City College Brighton and Hove Music Technology tutor Jason Murphy said: "The purpose is to give the students a stepping stone into the real world of the music industry instead of just being an academic exercise."
The label will be a long-term project with a compilation CD and showcase gig planned for May of each year.
They launched the label at a live gig at Komedia on Wednesday in conjunction with the Brighton Fringe Festival.
Student Jack Deeks, 18, from Brighton, said: "It's brilliant having loads of other people working together to achieve the same goal of making a great compilation.
"It's also amazing to have the public listen to our work and to get feedback."
Their debut CD is now available for £5 from all good local record shops.
