Let's get this completely right. EDO does not make any components specifically for use in bombers or their equipment in Iraq.
Phyllis Miller (Letters, May 11) implies the opposite is the case when in fact it is a distortion of the truth. EDO makes components for civil and military aircraft around the world and reacts to demand accordingly. It is not its choice on how these components end up being used.
The next time she travels by air, may I respectfully suggest she sits in the centre aisle and not look out of the window. If she does, she will see the very same wings (Airbuses being made by British Aerospace) future Air Force re-fuelling tankers will use to provide fuel for those bombers that carry the components she despises so much.
Are we all going to be even-handed and boycott air travel by trying to prevent British Aerospace making wings?
Very much a case of double standards going on here.
