In reference to the article (The Argus, May 13) about Joyce Rose, a blue badge driver who received numerous Parking tickets, some clarification is needed.
Our investigations show Ms Rose received a number of tickets but over a period of two-and-a-half years, not a matter of weeks as claimed in the article.
Some of these have been paid but some are still outstanding.
We have not agreed to cancel all the tickets as reported.
It is not appropriate to comment on particular cases but, although blue badge holders have certain parking concessions, this is on condition they park only where those concessions apply.
Places designated such as loading, motor cycle and taxi bays, are reserved for those uses only.
It is also essential badges are correctly displayed. Anyone who receives a parking ticket can challenge it and inquire if they are unsure why it was issued.
Staff at our parking information centres are happy to advise on the use of blue badges.
