Where did Mr Gehry learn doublespeak? He said the buildings he designed for the King Alfred site are "able to fit in with what's around" and "are in a decent scale to not stick out like a sore thumb".
He even claims he is "trying to listen and be a good neighbour".
The illustration in The Argus (May 21 and 22) shows his scheme is the opposite.
Celia Barlow MP thinks Gehry's design is "the most beautiful thing I have ever seen". How sad.
I hope our councillors will have more sense and reject the ugly monstrosity. Thank goodness for the common sense of Ken Fines and Selma Montford.
Mr Gehry said "I don't have to come here and trash the place." Please don't.
