I am writing to inform your readers of the danger to children and animals caused by the mindless actions of some yobs.

The Argus (May 5), printed an article about the rat problem in Withdean Park.

Signs were put up by the local authority before traps were baited. People were advised to keep dogs on leads and their children nearby until the rat problem had been addressed.

Mindless louts removed the signs and destroyed them, which must have been difficult considering they had been laminated.

A second set of signs were put up, still warning the public that rat traps were being put down and were baited with poison.

Added was a request to the public that the signs should not be removed as doing so could be detrimental to the health of children and domestic pets.

Unfortunately, the second set of signs were removed and destroyed. As a mother and pet lover, assuming these pathetic louts can read, I ask The Argus to run an article asking these low-lifes to leave the notices alone and let the local authority get on with its job, before an animal or a child gets poisoned.
