Our favourite superstar DJs took the Brighton Centre by storm, delivering a blistering set which went from one emotional extreme to the next.

The crowd was buzzing with anticipation and when the Chemical Brothers took the stage, they didn't disappoint.

In the stifling heat of the venue, it didn't take long to get everyone warmed up with a banging rendition of Hey Boy Hey Girl.

You wouldn't have thought it was a school night as the Chemical Brothers proceeded to take their following on a rollercoaster ride of the emotions.

They whipped the packed audience into a frenzy before leaving them hanging in anticipation, waiting and praying for the music to take over again.

The giant speakers then reverberated like machine guns as the calm was replaced by noise and light.

The strobes whipped back and forth like lasers, tracing their way across the crowd - who were shot through with a desire to dance.

The music took on an almost religious feel as the brothers were illuminated by light and surrounded by a crescendo of noise, which made the ground shake.

In such a charged atmosphere, these pioneers of Big Beat, despite wearing ordinary T-shirts, jeans and trainers, looked like gods.
