In fashion, science, art and entertainment, dolls have been used throughout the centuries to reinforce and question the cultural/social roles which men and women play.
Exploring associations between consumption and desire, the nature of femininity, fashion and fetishism and fantasy relationships, this fascinating exhibition takes a sideways glance at the hidden world of dolls.
From the surrealist mannequins of Marcel Duchamp to the Resusi-Annie life-saving doll, from ventriloquist dolls to "love dolls", from Barbie to anatomical wax models, Guys N Dolls leaves no stone unturned in this cross-cultural reassessment of the doll and its place in our society.
Open Tuesdays 10am-7pm, Wednesday - Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 2pm-5pm.
