Herstmonceux claimed three wickets in the final over and two off the final two balls to deny Crowhurst Park victory in East Sussex League, division one.

Needing seven to win, hosts Crowhurst had victory in sight despite losing a wicket to the first ball of the final over from Paul McDonald.

They needed three off the last two balls but first Tim Baines (108), then Laurence Coleman were run-out to secure an unlikely draw at 267-9.

Paul Brookes chipped in with 41 for Park as Greg Watson bowled unchanged to take 5-126.

Earlier, 'Ceux had posted 268-7 thanks largely to a first-wicket stand of 111 between Scott Pearce (134) and McDonald (25). Paul Lindfield's 4-68 was the pick of the bowling.

Surprise leaders Seaford made it four wins from four with a ten-wicket success away to St Peters.

Skipper Ed Jennings (5-20) and Nicky Bell (3-32) combined to dismiss Saints for 58, then Ed Senneck (41 not out) and John Reynolds (12 not out) knocked off the runs.

Glynde had to settle for a draw with Newick. Adam Davies struck 59 not out as Glynde posted 241-8 in the face of good bowling from Rupert Thacker (4-60), whose third over saw him take three wickets for no runs.

Dominic Shepheard took 5-72 when Newick replied but Tim Gill hit 80 and the visitors' last pair held on for a draw at 163-9.

Iden secured their first win of the season at home to Heathfield Park. Michael White smashed 105 not out and brother David 43 as Iden made 277-5 (Matt Bashford 3-46).

In reply, skipper Ian Cox, having scored big centuries in his previous two games, went for just two and Heathfield were all out for 151, helped by a last-wicket stand of 31 between Phil Douse and Tim Russell. Christian Hart top scored with 39 as Stuart Playford claimed 5-24.

Dave Meacher (101 not out) hit his first century for Fletching and Grant Horscroft added 86 not out in an unbroken stand of 131 as they amassed 278-3 away to Ringmer. The hosts never looked like challenging the total but batted out a draw at 173-7, Neil Linstrem scoring 40 not out.

In division two, Willingdon went top after a comfortable win over Uckfield Anderida.

Michael Crowther (55) and Joel Craven (54) helped Willingdon set 245-4 and that proved more than enough as the visitors were skittled for 118, Chris Lindop taking 4-18.

Former leaders Chiddingly had the worst of a draw at home to Rottingdean. Brett Moore stuck 50 as the visitors made 219-6 declared. After tea, Wayne Puttick hit 45 as Chiddingly closed on 164-7, Mike Steer taking 4-26.

Tunbridge Wells Borderers went second after a low-scoring win at home to Battle.

Dean Serra took 3-24 as Battle were bowled out for 91 but Borderers lost seven wickets in reply before Nick Edwards (24) and Mark Eason (22 not out) edged them home.

Hellingly and Crowborough shared an exciting draw. Ian Rippengal scored 110 not out, sharing in stands of 89 with Paul Wheatley (27) and 72 with skipper James Wise (45), as Hellingly made 217-4.

Ian Easton (69) and Dan Foden (55) anchored Crowborough's reply but when they departed the visitors settled for a draw at 204-7.

Keith Savage (45) and Rob Jenner (40) helped Barcombe secure a draw with 197-7 in reply to Ditchling's 256-6.
