Janie Brashill has turned her dream into reality by winning the women's ABA middleweight title.
The Gallus ABC boxer beat Sara Davis, of One Nation ABC, 5-3 on points at Huddersfield Town Hall .
Brashill, from Brighton, said: "I am a delighted. I have been dreaming about winning it for the past nine months."
Victory, which stretched her record to five wins from six contests, was secured in front of a 1,000 crowd but the numbers did not faze Brashill, who is coached by her husband Brian.
She said: "I had only fought on dinner shows before but the crowd did not make me nervous. In fact, I like a lively crowd - the rowdier the better suits me."
Brashill is not prepared to rest on her laurels after taking the 74kg title.
She admitted: "Now I have won this I need to find new goals. I will work hard over the summer and there are a couple of girls up north at my weight who I would like to box next season."
Husband Brian said: "Janie's dedication and hard work has been rewarded. All those hours in the gym and shadow boxing in the spare room have paid off."
The first round ended 2-2 on the judges' computer cards but Brashill stepped up her workrate to secure the title against a strong opponent.
