I cannot agree with your editorial comment (The Argus, May 31) regarding Ron Finch's intention to distribute leaflets protesting at Christopher Rolfe's return to the same town where his driving killed their son.
Most people who have suffered the loss of a child through an illegal driver have to live with the consequences for the rest of their lives.
The drivers receive totally inadequate prison sentences, being released after just six months in prison, with the occasional day out in Hastings. This is not justice.
The irony is Ron Finch may end up with a longer prison sentence for distributing posters protesting about Rolfe's return to Hastings, where he is already unwelcome.
Living with their son's death is traumatic enough without seeing Rolfe every day.
As a family who have suffered, and continue to suffer every day, from the loss of our daughter through an illegal driver, we would like to offer Mr Finch
our full support.
We collected some 23,000 signatures to protest at the ridiculous sentences handed out by judges.
