Slam door trains are to stop running in August but shouldn't Southern get its trains running properly before they start singing the praises of the new ones?

London-bound passengers boarding them at Portslade can't even get in the rear five carriages because Southern can't understand Portslade has a 12-carriage platform on the London side and a seven-carriage one for trains going in the opposite direction.

Slam-door trains with twelve carriages used to safely stop at Portslade with just an announcement to disembark from the front seven carriages, if heading for Littlehampton.

Surely Southern can do the same with the new trains? Someone will have a heart attack, or fall over, trying to get to the platform level before the train moves off.
