The Adur festival is now in its 18th year and, with events ranging from big-name appearances to calligraphy exhibitions and sessions with the Blue Peter gardener, it offers as great a mix of crowdpullers and curios as its Brighton-based counterpart.
The fortnight's worth of music, theatre, talks and exhibitions kicks off tomorrow with a dual launch in Shoreham and Lancing, and incorporates the Glastonwick Beer And Music Festival (Fly In Bar And Restaurant, Shoreham Airport, today and tomorrow) with appearances by Chris T-T, McDermott's Two Hours and Too Many Crooks.
A rare appearance by The Blockheads, rhythmic rockers to the late Ian Dury, has already sold out (Festival Marquee, June 18).
But you'd be hard-pressed to find a ticket that doesn't suit, whether it's music theatre from the whacky Las Vegas Mermaids (Shoreham Airport, Tues) or Jenny Eclair's one-woman play, The Andy Warhol Syndrome (Festival Marquee, June 15).
