Does the Government seriously expect us to queue up and pay £90 for the dubious benefit of holding an ID card?
Apart from the astronomic setting-up costs, the large fines for failure to inform authorities of address changes and the fallibility of the scheme, why is the Government coy about guaranteeing that only your date of birth, National Insurance number and address will be the sole information on the card?
