Lo and behold, the invasion of the wheelie-bins has reached these parts.
There is consternation at the profligate way in which Brighton and Hove Council has distributed them.
I have been given three, when each week, I only fill one carrier bag, if that, of ordinary rubbish. I recycle the rest.
Meanwhile, flats have been given one each and these wheelie-bins are twice the size of those given to residents south of New Church Road last year.
What is going on? All this is hardly a good way to encourage recycling, such as the 46.2 per cent achieved in Lichfield.
Could it be the council has a vested interest in supplying the burner at Newhaven to which it signed up in March 2003?
