Yet another senseless and horrific murder, this time a father believed to have been beaten to death by a yobbo gang (The Argus, May 31).
It is time to accept anarchy now exists in this country with a government which is virtually impotent where law and order are concerned.
Our courts should be giving out punishments to fit the crime and far more police should be on our streets.
To curb the vast increase in murders, the only positive deterrent is to return the death penalty.
In the early-Eighties, I delivered a petition to Number 10 Downing Street. Out of several thousand people, 78 per cent thought we were too soft on crime and that the death penalty should be brought back.
But while the do-gooders have their way, nothing will ever change.
