Will a decision be made this week to turn Durrington's Titnore Lane into a building site?

There will be a public meeting tomorrow at 6pm at The Assembly Hall, Stoke Abbott Road, Worthing, attended by Worthing Council's development control committee, which will debate the proposal to build more than 850 houses, a shopping centre and the road infrastructure to support them on the green fields and woodland east of Titnore Lane.

This is the most controversial issue to come before the planning department for years. If approved, building will go ahead on the last remaining area of green fields in Durrington and, worst of all, will have a major impact on Titnore's ancient woodland.

This meeting could be the only chance to directly influence the council's decision on the scheme and it is of the utmost importance as many residents as possible attend to show how much they want this unique area to be preserved for future generations.
