I pulled into what I thought was a valid parking space in Rosehill Terrace, Brighton, last week. I saw the voucher parking sign and got out of my car to buy one, when an angry resident demanded I move, telling me I had parked in a residents-only bay. They then pointed to a miniscule sign about four cars back, which I hadn't seen.
If I hadn't been bawled at, I would have been looking at another fine for parking in an unclearly marked bay.
It is hardly surprising Brighton and Hove issue so many parking tickets. The fine line between residents' and non-residents' places is ridiculous.
Why can't the council make the distinction between the types of bay more obvious - as with disabled parking spaces.
Paint a few letters in the bays to make drivers' lives easier.
