Elizabeth Taylor (Letters, June 9) says seagulls are misunderstood and unappreciated. Having lived here for 37 years,
I find little to appreciate.
They wake you up at the crack of dawn screeching, barely a day goes by without the car being targeted, clean washing hung out to dry is often ruined, rubbish is often strewn across the streets after a visit from our "unappreciated" friends. If you are lucky, you might get a visit from up high.
The only seagulls I appreciate play at Withdean.
-Mr K Allen, Saltdean
