A celebration of folk, roots and acoustic music from Britain, Ireland and North America, this year's Crawley Folk Festival has everything from traditional airs to thrilling dance music.
Kicking off next Friday with smokey blues from the SPIKEdrivers (Marquee, 8.30pm) and a musical exploration of the myths and legends of ancient Britain (Ampitheatre, 9pm), one of the festival's highlights will be an appearance by Eliza Carthy (Theatre, June 25, 2pm). The multi-award-winning violinist and folk icon and her band The Ratcatchers will join forces with English Acoustic Collective and seafarers North South Collide for English Tradition, a concert celebrating the strength and diversity of English traditional music.
If you missed their performance at the Brighton Festival, the festival concludes with another chance to see the exciting Sussexbased collaboration between Tacet Ensemble and the Copper Family (June 26, Studio, 7.30pm).
