I was saddened to learn of the Sunday School teacher and her family driven out of their home by "urban terrorists" (The Argus, June 13).

Victims of these crimes, who are spread across the country, having endured months or years of aggravation, are forced to leave their homes, while the thugs get away with it time and time again.

The police do not seem to be interested in the victim's situation, they only seem to act if the victim is maimed or murdered.

The judicial system gives such lenient sentences the thugs leave the courts laughing and the politicians talk tough but it is empty rhetoric.

Until society backs strong sanctions against these thugs, things can only get worse.
