A spectacular fireworks display will light up the night sky as part of an evening of music and entertainment.
The Midsummer Bang will mark the launch of Brighton Bonfire Society and celebrate 100 years of the Rotary at Devil's Dyke.
Proceeds from the event will be divided between The Argus Appeal and the Rotary Club of Brighton and Hove South Downs.
It will mean needy people, charities, voluntary groups and organisations will benefit.
More than £4,000 worth of fireworks will be set off but there are plenty of other attractions for all the family.
They include live music, DJs, a beer tent, food, bouncy castles, a Brighton and Hove Albion mobile stand, a fire engine and ambulance.
Organiser John Guest said: "It should be a great event and there is plenty for everyone to enjoy. We are hoping for a really good turnout on the night."
Mike Sansom, who runs Brighton Fireworks and has been working to set up the new society, said: "We are hoping to eventually hold two big events a year one in the summer and another around Bonfire Night."
The Midsummer Bang runs from 6pm to 11pm.
The fireworks will be starting at about 10.30pm on Friday. A parking area will be opened in a neighbouring farmer's field at a cost of £4 per vehicle.
